Seriously? If this incident happened, these kids need more than sensitivity training. What exactly do they mean by “racial comments”? We’re still trying to figure out when “racial” became a substitute for “racist,” but that’s another story. We are wondering why folks think that nooses are acceptable. Although we try to resist speaking for the entire black Diaspora, we feel safe saying black folks worldwide do not like or want nooses anywhere near them. Feel free to add chains to that statement. 

[It should not require racial sensitivity for people to realize that (no matter who it's aimed at) a noose is a death threat

Rhode Island: Civil Unions Law Passes
The legislation, which has already passed the state House, allows gay couples to enter into civil unions that offer the same rights and benefits given to married couples under Rhode Island law. 

It is now headed to Chafee's desk for his signature. Ahead of the vote, the independent governor called the legislation an "incremental step" toward allowing gay marriage, which he supports.
