Urge Your Members of Congress to Co-Sponsor the Paycheck Fairness Act | National Women’s Law Center
Following the Supreme Court decision in Wal-Mart v. Dukes, a devastating 5-4 decision in favor of the defendant, Wal-Mart, it is time for Congress to take the steps necessary to help close the wage gap that all female employees face in the workplace by effectively addressing wage discrimination and eliminating loopholes that have undermined the Equal Pay Act’s effectiveness. The Paycheck Fairness Act would deter wage discrimination by closing loopholes in the Equal Pay Act and barring retaliation against workers who disclose their wages to coworkers.

Clarence Clemons Dies at 69
“The Big Man” of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, saxophonist Clarence Clemons, has died at the age of 69, the New York Times is reporting. He succumbed in a Palm Beach, Fla., hospital to complications from a stroke he had suffered last Sunday.

From the beginnings of the E Street Band in 1972, Mr. Clemons played a central part in Mr. Springsteen’s music, complementing the group’s electric guitar and driving rhythms in songs like “Born to Run” and “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out” with muscular, melodic saxophone hooks that echoed doo-wop, soul and early rock ‘n’ roll.
