Progressive Caucus Budget: Truly Courageous and Serious | Crooks and Liars – karoli
While the media go on and on about how Paul Ryan's budget is so serious and courageous that the President "must respond" to it (see the clip above where Fox's Stuart Varney employs the 'crisis' budget strategy), a truly progressive proposal has been released.

Free health clinic aids hundreds in need | San Francisco Chronicle
By the time the free health clinic at the Oakland Coliseum opened Saturday at dawn, some 800 tickets had been handed out to people who waited in the cold all night for the chance to have a tooth extracted, get new glasses or to finally get prescription medications for arthritis or other painful conditions.

Geneva Clay, 51, of San Leandro worked as a project manager and had health benefits before she was laid off in 2009. She had been waiting in line since 11 p.m. Friday and was number 282.

"We are the middle class. We are in need of health care because of the lack of jobs," she said, trying to keep warm until her number was called.

Appeals court rules against SB 1070 | Tucson Sentinel
Denying an appeal by Gov. Jan Brewer, a federal appeals court upheld Monday a lower court's block of much of Arizona's controversial SB 1070 law aimed at illegal immigration.

A three-judge panel of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the lower court "did not abuse its discretion" in blocking parts of the law from taking effect last year.

The decision, a victory for the Obama administration and immigration activists who filed suit to block the law, means the SB 1070 case will likely find its way to the Supreme Court.

Back in the 1960s, it was a test of logical reasoning… before we get to the experiment, let's get into the mathematical background.
